FAUBAI attends NAFSA 2019

This past May, FAUBAI attended the NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo. This was the 67th edition of the event, held in Washington D.C. USA, May 27-31. The conference is considered as one of the most important worldwide within the international education field, with an estimated 10.000 participants gathering every year.

“This is a great place to show the power of the Brazilian higher education system, the quality of its institutions, research, innovation and extension activities developed by our institutions”, affirmed Maria Leonor Alves Maia, president of FAUBAI. In addition to President Maia, FAUBAI was represented by other members: its vice-president, Eliane Segati Rios Registro; its treasurer, Vanessa França Bonini Panico, and its executive director, Renée Zicman.

FAUBAI presented during the event, which included the following booths: FAUBAI, UNESP, UNIS Group, UFRN, UNIP, UNB, UFG, and UFABC. More than 30 Brazilian HEI associated with FAUBAI have also attended NAFSA.

In addition to welcoming the conference participants in the FAUBAI stand, the board of directors attended the session “Leading change around the world: connection with regional association leaders in international education”. The FAUBAI board also enjoyed the opportunity to announce the FAUBAI 2020 Conference, which will be held in Belo Horizonte, under the theme “Global learning, global citizens”.
