FAUBAI – Brazilian Association of International Education, founded in 1988, is a non-profit organization. With 250 institutional members, it is dedicated to help the internationalization of Brazilian higher education; to promote the diversity and potential of the Brazilian higher education system abroad and to the training of its members thr style=”clear: both;”ough exchange of experiences and information, conferences, seminars, workshops, courses and meetings, consultancy to higher education institutions and advocacy.


PUCPR is a Catholic University situated in the city of Curitiba, which offers 66 undergraduate courses and 25 graduate courses to its community of more than thirty five thousand (35000) students spread thr style=”clear: both;”oughout its 5 campuses. At PUCPR we strongly believe that the combination of our belief in the human potential for development combined with a strategic plan that has educational excellence, internationalization and growth at its heart makes us a unique destination.


Recognized worldwide as one of the most important doctoral research centers in the country, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) was founded in 1940. The university has four Academic centers: the Center for Theology and Human Sciences (CTCH); the Center for Social Sciences (CCS); the Center for Science and Technology (CTC) and the Center for Biology and Medicine (CCBM). All departments offer: undergraduate courses (Bachelor’s degree) and graduate courses: Master’s and Doctorate.


Senac University Center offers 40 undergraduate, 119 graduate specialization and 84 continuing education courses, in Santo Amaro campus (São Paulo city), in two others in Águas de São Pedro and Campos do Jordão, and also in 23 Senac branches maintained statewide.

It has courses in the following fields of knowledge: Business, Communication and Arts, Design and Architecture, Environment, Engineering, Fashion, Health and Wellbeing, Information Technology, Hospitality and others.

Santo Amaro campus is the national headquarters of Senac’s distance education courses.


The Rio de Janeiro State University, UERJ, was founded in 1950 and since then has grown and become one of the main higher education institutions in Brazil. In UERJ, the work is divided in: teaching, research, culture and technological innovation spanning 250 undergraduate and graduate courses for almost 31,000 students.


Located in the industrial belt of São Paulo in an area known as ABC, Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC) started in 2006. Its mission is to promote the advance of knowledge thr style=”clear: both;”ough teaching, research and outreach initiatives, built on the principles of interdisciplinarity, excellence and social inclusion. The university has a growing concern with internationalization, knowing it should foster the interchange of students and professors, as well as the adoption of international academic standards.


The Universidade Federal do Amazonas (Ufam) is a public institution dedicated to higher education. For 105 years, it has contributed to Amazon development. Ufam has about 30,000 students enrolled and offers 114 undergraduate courses, 34 master degrees and 11 doctorates. Its facilities includes 6 campuses, of which 5 are along several Amazon rivers. The main campus is located in the capital, Manaus, being the third largest forest fragment in an urban area in the world and the first one in Brazil.


Universidade Federal Fluminense, founded in 1960, is a federal public educational institution, situated in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Its headquarters are located in the city of Niterói and, as a result of a strong interiorization policy, in several other campi within the state. UFF ranks among the best universities in Brazil, with over 45.000 students enrolled in around 120 undergraduate courses, in addition to 5.000 Master and Doctorate students attending around 100 graduate courses.


“The Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) – Founded in 1908 as the Agriculture School of Lavras, it was renamed as College of Agriculture of Lavras (ESAL) in 1938, federalized in 1963 and transformed into a university in 1994. The General Index of Courses (GIC), in 2012, highlighted UFLA as the first university among all universities in the state of Minas Gerais, and the second among the 218 public and private universities in Brazil.”


A Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais foi criada em 1927 e está estruturada nos pilares Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão. The Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT) was created in 1970, in the heart of Brazil, in a state that is part of the Amazon region, encompassing a rich cultural and biological diversity. UFMT is a comprehensive university and has four campi: the main one in Cuiabá and thr style=”clear: both;”ee others – Rondonópolis in the southern region of the state, Sinop, to the north and Araguaia to the east. Besides, the university has laboratories and research bases in the thr style=”clear: both;”ee biomes of Mato Grosso: the Amazon forest, the Pantanal wetlands and the Cerrado (Brazilian Savanna). The Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) combines excellence in research and teaching with service to society. UFPR is amongst Brazil’s top 10 universities in rankings produced by Brazilian and foreign agencies. It is also ranked 37th in the 2013 QS University Rankings: Latin America. Our research focuses on some of the most fundamental issues in genomics and proteomics, biotechnology, environmental science, development of new materials, molecular diagnosis, epidemiological studies and humanities.


The Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), located in Porto Alegre, Brazil, is a comprehensive university of 50.000 members. With 65 different undergraduate courses, UFRGS has been ranked for the second consecutive year best Brazilian university by the Ministry of Higher Education. We offer 81 different graduate programs, of which 30 are considered of “international level”, according to CAPES. UFRGS maintains agreements with more than 110 foreign universities, including Double Degrees in Engineering. International students are welcome to attend part of our courses in English.


The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ has thr style=”clear: both;”ee campuses, seven museums, eight university hospitals, one Science Park and two business incubators. National and internationally recognized by the high quality of teaching as well as by its commitment to research, the UFRJ distinguishes itself in several fields of study. The institution’s excellence can be verified, for example, by international indicators which place the UFRJ among the top ten Latin American Universities. Created in 1920, it is the oldest Brazilian university, and nowadays has more nearly 60 thousand students. Following a global trend, the UFRJ has established relationships with more than 180 international institutions all over the world.


Located in Natal, on the coast of the Brazilian Northeast region, UFRN stands out among the top public universities in Brazil, providing programs in all areas. Currently we have almost 40,000 students, distributed in more than 200 undergraduate, master’s and doctorate programs. All areas develop research with strong international cooperation, especially Materials Engineering, Petroleum, Biodiversity and Tropical Medicine, as well as the Brain Institute and the International Institute of Physics.


The Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) is a public university located in the state of São Paulo, with 4 campuses in the cities of São Carlos, Araras, Sorocaba and Buri. Today, with almost 45 years of existence, it is one of the most renowned institutions of higher education and research in Brazil and Latin America. Every year, 2,577 vacancies for undergraduates are offered in 58 majors on site and 05 majors in distance learning education. UFSCar has also had postgraduate programs (Masters and PhD).


The Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ) is one of the best public universities in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, with 43 undergraduate and 20 Graduate programs in almost all fields of expertise. Founded in 1986, UFSJ’s highly accredited programs are distributed among 6 campuses, attending a number of 16,000 students. Among our strongest areas of expertise, we highlight our Engineering Programs; Physics and Chemistry of Materials; Sustainable Development Technologies; and our Humanities and Arts Programs.


The Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro, located in Uberaba/MG, offers 24 undergraduation courses, 08 technical courses as well as stricto and lacto sensu post-graduation courses (including 31 programs of Medical Residency). The courses contemplate the areas of health, humanities and exact and technological sciences. The university also maintains a hospital complex registered at the National Health System that assists patients from more than 400 cities in the state of Minas Gerais and from other 14 states.


UFVJM is a public educational institution composed of four campuses in the cities of Diamantina (main campus), Janaúba, Teófilo Otoni and Unaí, in the state of Minas Gerais.

UFVJM offers a total of 50 majors, 13 master’s and 2 PhD programs (8,500 undergraduate and graduate students).

Despite being a new university UFVJM has already made a lot of progress in a short period, but there is still a long journey ahead on the way to excellence.

The University of Campinas (Unicamp) is a public university funded by the State of São Paulo, Brazil. Established in 1966 in the city of Campinas with the goal to become an academic center of excellence, providing high-standard undergraduate and graduate education, Unicamp within the 50 best universities of the world with less than 50 years according with the World Top Universities Ranking 2013. With campuses in Campinas, Piracicaba and Limeira, it offers undergraduate degrees in 68, and graduate degrees in 156 major in almost all areas of knowledge.


The Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) is located in 6 campuses nearby São Paulo city being each one focused in one area of knowledge. It counts on 11,000 undergraduate students enrolled in 55 courses and 4,200 graduate students enrolled in 52 Master and 38 PhD programs, being 11 of them considered excellent according to international patterns. The university is distinguished for offering 96 Medical Residency Programs at its University Hospital and also for supporting 53 social programs developed thr style=”clear: both;”ough 200 social projects. At the international level, UNIFESP has established 60 academic cooperation agreements in 20 countries and is member of  6 academic networks .
